Introduction

What is Health-Related Quality of Life?

Health-related quality of life represents the functional effects of an illness and its consequent therapy upon a patient, as perceived by the patient.

Why is Health-Related Quality of Life Important?

One of the aims of treating patients must be to enable them to feel better and to function better in their day-to-day activities. Many clinicians and clinical investigators now recognise the importance of incorporating health-related quality of life into their routine clinical practice and into clinical studies.

Health-Related Quality of Life Questionnaires

Over the last 15 years, we have developed and validated a number of disease-specific questionnaires. We should be happy to make them available to interested clinicians, investigators, and companies. Linked to this page, you will find a short description of each instrument and the published manuscripts in which you can find the methods of development and reports of validity. In addition, we have listed the languages in which each instrument is available.
